Meet Our Team

Michael Reilly has been working in the awning manufacture and design profession since 1979. His experience includes fabrication and design of custom fabric awnings and canopies in South Florida. His family has been fabricating awnings since 1929. He is experienced in residential and commercial projects from a local to an international scope.

Aesthetic, structural design and installation methods are areas that he has been innovative in. Michael received his BA from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. He was a representative from the awning industry that helped in writing the awning chapter of the South Florida building code. He has served on the boards of the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association, Southern Canvas Products Association, and Florida Fabrics Association.

William (Bill) Garvey brings 30 years of hands-on expertise to Miami Awning’s leadership team, overseeing operations, customer relations, and major project execution across South Florida.

Joan Garvey began working at Miami Awning at the age of 16, when her father was the owner of Miami Awning. She started off filing paperwork in the office and over the years learned all of the workings of the business. She eventually took on a major leadership role and currently serves as the Sales Manager.

Joan and her brother Mike Reilly are the 4th generation to run Miami Awning Company. Joan has proudly dedicated herself to Miami Awning Company, taking honor in keeping a historic family business going strong.

Laura Rodriguez has managed core accounting, billing, and administrative finances at Miami Awning for over 16 years, ensuring smooth financial operations across all residential and commercial project contracts.

Joseph has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Miami as well as an MBA from Florida International University. He is proud to represent the 5th generation of Reilly family management at Miami Awning.

After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of West Florida, Dan joined Miami Awning full-time and became part of the 5th generation of Reilly family management. He is currently the Director of Design, one of our lead project managers, and an officer of the company.

Gustavo Rotella brings 15 years of dedicated engineering coordination and senior project leadership to Miami Awning, handling complex commercial and residential awning installations across South Florida.

Years at Miami Awning: 15+

Frank Sanchez is a Miami Native and a highly qualified project manager at Miami Awning. He holds 2 Associate Degrees from Miami Dade College (Business Administration & Drafting Technology) and studied Business Administration at Florida International University.

Frank joined the Miami Awning team in 2001 following the acquisition of Thomas Awnings, where he was previously employed, and has been a key asset to the company ever since.

Al received an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering at Westchester Community College in 1975 and worked for Conrail railroad in New York. Moving to Miami, he engaged in missionary service in the British Virgin Islands and Bolivia.

In 2014, Miami Awning hired Al to manage client relationships and awning recover consultations, quickly taking on full-time sales and project management responsibilities.

Anita Marten is Miami Awning’s design and technical coordinator, helping ensure business operations run smoothly.
